The Parker-Hickman Farmstead - Erbie - Buffalo National River - 2018
The structures have been preserved at the same condition in which they were at the time the last owners, the J.D. Hickman Family, left in 1978. The homestead is the oldest still in existence on the Buffalo River and one of the best preserved around. The Homestead was built between 1847 and 1849 by the Parker Family. By 1912, the Hickman Family had moved in. The homestead remained in the Hickman Family until 1978 -- and the entire area was purchased by the National Parks Service in 1982.
In 1987, the Homestead was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
